UCL LACROSSE COMMITTEE
Chiamaka is in her third year studying Medicine. Having started her lacrosse journey 9 years ago, she has played as a regular member of the Women’s 1s since she joined the club as a fresher, and as a returner has been heavily involved in all club activity. Chiamaka now takes on the role of Women’s President this year. She is keen to improve whole club integration and to ensure our freshers feel comfortable as new members of the club and will work alongside the men’s president to make sure that the club runs smoothly and successfully throughout the year.
Darcey is in her third Year studying Biomedical Sciences. In her previous role as development captain, Darcey was responsible for captaining the largest development team in club history (81 members!) and helped to get our freshers integrated into the club. Darcey takes on the role of Treasurer this year, where she’ll be responsible for the club’s running and finances, alongside the President. Dependable, organised and friendly too, our club’s finances are definitely in great hands this year!
Issy is in her fourth year studying Natural Sciences. Issy has been a key member of the Women’s 1s, playing in defence for her 1st three years in the club, and having been President of UCL Snowsports, she is more than equipped to take up her new role as Vice-President. As VP, Issy will be in charge of organising the club’s international tour and UK mini-tour; the club’s social media, volunteering and stash (did somebody say bucket hats) and assisting the president where needed.
1st Team Captain
Olympia is in her third year studying History. Having played lacrosse for many years now, Olympia is truly a pro and proves this time and again on the pitch, as a truly vital member of the women’s 1s. As 1s vice-captain last season, Olympia is more than prepared to captain the UCL 1s this year. Olympia is sure to keep practices light-hearted yet energetic as she leads the 1s into a season that will surely be as victorious as the last, as well as to another outstanding varsity victory. She will also work with our 2nd team captain, Preet, to encourage the progression of 2s players up into the UCL 1st team.
Preet is in her second year, studying Biomedical Sciences. She has played for the Women’s 2s and the mixed 1s this year and is not only an amazing lacrosse player but a reassuring presence on and off the pitch too. As captain of the Women's 2nd team, Preet will be coordinating weekly training and matches and will do very well to lead the UCL 2s to a season of success, following their new promotion to Division 1 this year. She will also work alongside the development captain to encouraging the progression of development players into the UCL 2nd team.

Surahna played many mixed games and also moved up from the development team to the Women’s 2s in her first year, leaving her well placed for her role. She will be in charge of running Wednesday training sessions, alongside our development captain, and captaining her team to some big LUSL wins. She hopes to make lacrosse fun and welcoming for new and returning players alike and to encourage as many members to play mixed lacrosse as possible!

Working alongside her fellow social secretary, Jojo , Freya will help to organise and run the club’s extensive social calendar, and get all of our members involved!
Gabi is a third year Comparative Literature Student. In her previous role as Mixed 2s Captain, Gabi helped to run welcome people to the club and this will translate brilliantly over to her role as welfare officer this year. Gabi has received extensive training from the union and is currently working towards a Level 2 Mental Health First Aid Qualification. She has many ideas for welfare initiatives within the club and is kind, approachable and well-equipped to help integrate our new freshers into the club as well as to address the concerns and wellbeing of our current members.
